Hi all, it's Billkwando.

I made these skins because I tried to play DTXMania with the RB drums and my brain exploded. It's hard enough to follow the chart without having to look at the wrong color drums.

Update: 12/24/08

I originally included 3 sets, one with the 3rd tom omitted and the hihat marked with red, one with the 3rd tom omitted and the hihat marked yellow (like on RB), and one with all the pads in RB colors (just in case they ever come up with a driver that recognizes the cymbals).

In addition, I have added 2 new sets for people who want to play the 3rd tom on the 2nd tom. This means that there are 2 green lanes in this set. You play the chart as written, but using the green pad for both the 2nd and 3rd tom. As usual, there's 2 versions, a "hi-hat on red" version, and a "hi-hat on yellow" version.

I've totally given up on the idea of using the red drum as the hi-hat, and prefer to play crosshand, but I've left the option for those of you who wish to try it.

Instructions:

You will need to set the left cymbal, right cymbal, ride, & 3rd tom to autoplay, as you only have a snare, a hihat, and 2 toms. If you're playing with the 2nd & 3rd toms on the green pad, you will need to go into Configuration -> System, set "FTGroup" from "0" to "1". Of course, you'd also want to make sure the 3rd tom isn't on autoplay.

[Note: You'll notice that I suck at paint/photoshop and that the bass notes are a solid orange line. Sue me. I also didn't do the crash cymbal colors cos I'm lazy. I didn't recolor the little drum pics either, but I included them here. If anybody wants to improve on this stuff, be my guest.]

To use, copy the items into C:\[YourDTXManiaFolder]\System\Graphics

You may need to rename them to match what's in the folder. Don't worry, I included the original graphics files for DTXMania067b, which is the recommended version. Simply cut off the "_yellow1st" from "ScreenPlayDrums chips_yellow1st.PNG", and replace the original "ScreenPlayDrums chips.PNG".....then do the same for the background, and you're done. Note: if you also want the lane colors to flash correctly, be sure to copy the "lane flush" files in as well. They will overwrite the originals (because renaming them is too much of a pain in the ass), but I provided backups of those too.
